Sports Injuries

You are more likely to injure yourself running for a train than training for a run because the exertion is sudden and without preparation; for this reason I actually dislike the term ‘Sports Injury’ as everyday activities produce the same problems.

These injuries can be most debilitating and need the therapist to consider the interactions of muscle, ligament, tendon and joint as a whole. Typical conditions that are treated within the clinic include;

  • Golfer’s Elbow and tennis elbow
  • Tendinitis
  • Hamstring or calf muscle problems
  • Plantar Fasciitis and other forms of foot pain
  • Groin strain
  • Knee or other joint pain
  • Shin splints or runners’ knee
  • Rotator cuff and shoulder issues
  • Ligament sprains
  • Elbow and wrist damage

There are a wide variety of reasons why these injuries happen such as poor posture, over-stressing, abnormal movement but, when you need excellent, timely care, look no further than, where David has all of the expertise to handle your injuries, sports related or not.

David has practiced a wide variety of muscle treatments including relaxation, therapeutic & remedial massage, positional release techniques and muscle energising methods. With an extensive history in Judo training, he knows which pressure points, trigger points and Shiatsu techniques that will reset your muscles to the optimal, relaxed state. He provides high quality sports massages to both repair and prepare your muscles, keeping them balanced and ready for anything your life throws at them.

With over 40 years experience in effective techniques, his passion in passing on helpful information and after-care, and his skills relating to sports therapy and sports
injuries, why would you ever go anywhere else?

  • I came to see David when I was pregnant & suffering from pelvic, hip and lower back pain. Because he owns a suitable chair I could receive treatment in the sat position, eliminating any concerns regarding putting pressure on my unborn child. He made me so much more comfortable throughout my later trimesters - enhancing the experience greatly. I still see David periodically as he helps me with relaxing massages and pain treatments alike.

  • I went to see David with considerable foot and calf pain which was making an underlying arthritic condition in my left ankle and fore foot worse. He initially used some massage techniques to help reduce pain and swelling in these troublesome areas. With David’s expert guidance I was measured for some orthotics, and given great before and after care as well as sound advice. Many thanks Dave, for helping get my life back on track.

  • Dave has a range of techniques that constantly amaze me how everything in the body is linked together. He worked his magic and, at 58 years old, I successfully completed the New York Marathon along with another of his clients.

  • I was desperate for help & a solution to the ongoing lower back pain I had suffered for years. 3 sessions with David sorted the problem out. My best decision, however, was to continue with a monthly ‘MOT’ which has successfully allowed me to avoid long term lower back pains ever since. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dave
